Google’s line of Nexus phones definitely has its fan base. The previous Nexus model stood out because it had curved glass (way before there were rumors going around the web that the next iPhone would have those as well). The ole’ Google Nexus S looks like this:

That looks like a super slick phone! However… the buttons at the bottom are not on the display. They’re not touch screen buttons. And everything that’s not touch screen is horribly out of date and must be replaced by something more modern immediately!
So that’s why the Google Nexus Prime is going to look like this:

See any physical buttons on there? Me neither!
An early Google Nexus S successor image was already leaked in May. It, too, does not seem to have any physical buttons. So at least we’ve got some consistent information here.
The render above is probably the real deal: just ask Android Authority!
So now that we have established that the phone is going to look awesome, let’s have a look at the specs, shall we?
Nexus Prime Specifications
The Nexus Prime will have a super amoled HD screen with a 720p HD resolution, which is 1280 x 720 to be exact. The camera can take pictures at 5 megapixel and it is able to record 1080p HD video. The improved image sensor allows this phone to record video at a higher resolution than it can display!
The Nexus Prime is powered by a dual core Texas Instruments SOC, which is clocked at 1.5GHz. It has 1GB of memory, which is set up in dual channel mode. This means that the memory can be read at twice the speed of regular single channel RAM (in theory at least). The phone is only 8.8mm thin.
It is almost certain that the Nexus Prime will run Android Icecream Sandwich, the new Android that everybody is looking out for!
Final Thoughts
It’s got style, it’s got impressice specs and it’s also unlocked!
Just thinking about this phone makes me all giddy like a 16 year old schoolgirl at a Take That concert in the nineties.
I’m definitely considering buying this baby when it comes out.
Anybody feel the same way?
