Overclocked Xperia Arc S PResented At IFA

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S OverclockedSony’s line of Xperia smartphones is currently enjoying a very nice amount of success. And let’s be honest, Xperia phones are pretty cool. It’s already been a few months ago since Sony launched the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc (and don’t forget about the upcoming Xperia Ray & Active).

They’ve been actively working on making their Xperia phones cooler and more awesome ever since.

For example… they’ve updated Xperia to Android 2.3.3. When a phone is being updated, it’s always a good sign. It means the manufacturer is actively supporting it at the moment.

And not only is Sony actively working in improving the Xperia user experience: hackers have managed to get root access to the Xperia Arc. This creates yet more possibilities for Arc owners to utilize their phone’s capabilities to the max.

Overclocking The Xperia Arc

The overclocked version of the Arc will be called Xperia Arc S. It not only differs in clock speed from the regular Arc, it will also come in different colors. The clock speed bump is not just for showing off or for milking the Xperia franchise. Sony claims that the overclocked Arc S loads web pages faster and that it can start up the camera mode faster. The higher clock speed is also supposed to make video and image processing faster by about 25%.

The Arc S will be able to take 3D picture using the 3D Panorama Sweep feature. This feature is going to come out later this year with an update. The Arc S will have a 4.2” touch screen display with a 854 x 480 resolution. The camera can handle 8 megapixel.
