The Sony Ericsson Mango has been leaked quite a few times already, but the world hasn’t seen pictures of this quality as of yet. A Chinese website managed to get their hands on this new smartphone and has taken a few high quality photos of it.
Shortly after releasing the two not insignificant Android devices Xperia Play and Xperia Arc, it is already coming up with yet another new release. It is code named The Mango and it is going to be the smallest device to run Android the world has ever seen.
The gallery shows that the Sony Ericsson Mango is quite similar to its X10 mini pro smartphone. We suspect that the Mango device is therefore an upgrade to the X10 mini pro.
The X10 mini pro has its limits. It can only run Android 2.1 but not higher. In many cases, the X10 is shipped with Android 1.6. Its processor is clocked at a mere 600MHz. Not very impressive anymore, considering today’s standards. However, the Mango can run Android 2.3 and is most likely to be clocked at at least 1GHz.
The keyboard looks very similar to that of the X10 and most people are satisfied about the user friendliness of that keyboard. I expect that the Mango will lend itself perfectly for typing longer messages or maybe even documents of no more than a few pages.
So to make a long story short… Sony Ericsson has stuffed more speed and more capabilities into a tinier volume. And that’s perfectly fine for a new smartphone that’s not meant to be breakthrough material.
